Elon Musk presents Grok 3

Elon Musk has introduced Grok 3, the new artificial intelligence model from his company xAI. During a live stream on X, Musk stated that Grok 3 is ten times more powerful than Grok 2. Grok is an advanced chatbot designed to understand natural language and answer complex questions. It stands alongside other chatbots like ChatGPT. xAI was founded in March 2023 with the goal of understanding the universe. It has attracted talent from companies like Google and Tesla. The market valuation of xAI is about 50 billion dollars.

To train Grok 3, xAI used a data center in Memphis with around 200,000 GPUs. This data center hosts Colossus, one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world. Musk claimed that Grok 3 is an AI that seeks the truth, even if it sometimes contradicts political correctness. Unlike Grok 2, which is free for X users, Grok 3 will require a Premium+ subscription costing 40 dollars a month.

Musk also revealed his dream of sending Grok to Mars on a SpaceX rocket in November 2026. During the presentation, he stated that, if all goes well, Grok and Optimus robots will be aboard the Starship rockets. Additionally, Grok will have an official app available for iOS and Android, featuring a function called DeepSearch for advanced searches. This new application aims to compete with other AI research tools.
